Read UTF-16 encoded plain text files

These word processors and text editors are known to support UTF-16 encoded plain text files.

• UniEdit 1.3 can open and save both UTF-16LE and UTF-16BE with or without byte order marks.
• Microsoft Word 97/2000 and Unitype Global Writer 98 can open UTF-16LE and UTF-16BE with byte order marks but they can only save UTF-16LE.
• NJStar Chinese WP 4.31, NJStar Japanese WP 4.31 and JWPce 1.22 can open and save UTF-16LE.
• J-Text 1.0 can import and export UTF-16BE - yes, big-endian.
