Unitype Global Writer 98

A multilingual word processor for Windows 95 or later versions.  Non-expiring shareware.  It is supplied with TrueType fonts and pop-up keyboards for more than 100 languages.  Each Chinese, Japanese and Korean type-face comes in two fonts: plain and bold.  You can input Chinese words and phrases, not just individual characters.  In addition to its own fyle type, it can open and save GB, Big5, Shift-JIS, KSC, UTF-8 and UTF-16 encoded plain text files.  It reads both UTF-16BE and UTF-16LE but only saves UTF16-LE.  You cannot create tables or make automatically numbered footnotes.

A multilingual text editor for Windows 3.1 or later versions.  Shareware permanently disabled after the trial period.  It has fonts and pop-up keyboards for more than 100 languages.  Most languages are supplied with TrueType fonts but Chinese, Japanese and Korean have only bitmap fonts.  You can input Chinese words and phrases, not just individual characters.  In addition to its own fyle type, it can open and save GB, Big5, Shift-JIS, EUC, KSC, UHC, ISO-2022, UTF-8, UTF-7, UTF-16LE and UTF-16BE encoded plain text files.  You cannot create tables or make automatically numbered footnotes.

A 32-bit version is also available.
