Write Chinese, Japanese and Korean in Office 2000 or XP (but not Office 97), Outlook Express 4.0, Internet Explorer 4.0 or Netscape Communicator 4.72 or later for Windows ME, 98, 95 or NT 4.0.  Version 5.02 or earlier is not compatible with Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Office XP.  Global IME for Office XP runs under any version of  Windows but it will not install without Office XP.

You will get the following fonts, codepages and input methods if you install Microsoft Global IME 5.02 with the language packs:

If you have Word 97 and only need Pinyin to Hanzi, you can use Erik Peterson's free Word 97 macro.
