After you have installed a decompression utility, you can double-click on a zip file to see what it contains. Click on the Extract button to unpack all the files from the zip file - or select the files you want to unpack, if you do not need all, and then click on the Extract button.
Users of Windows XP or ME can decompress zipped files by double-clicking on them in Windows Explorer. You can zip a folder by right-clicking on it and then left-clicking on Send To > Compressed Folder.
