NJStar Japanese WP 4.33

A Japanese word processor for Windows 95 or later versions.  Non-expiring shareware.  It has the most input methods of all Japanese word processors.  In addition to its own file type, it opens and saves RTF files and Shift-JIS, EUC-JP, New JIS (ISO-2022), UTF-8, UTF-7 and UTF-16LE encoded plain text files.  It also reads Old JIS and NEC JIS encoded files.  You can create tables but not automatically numbered footnotes.

JWPce 1.34

A Japanese text editor for Windows 95 or later versions.  Freeware.  It can use Unicode TrueType fonts.  In addition to its own file type, it opens and saves JWP, Shift-JIS, EUC-JP, New JIS (ISO-2022), Old JIS, NEC JIS, UTF-8, UTF-7 and UTF-16LE encoded plain text files.  You cannot create tables or make automatically numbered footnotes.

JWP 1.31

A Japanese text editor for Windows 3.1 or later versions.  Freeware.  It uses bitmap fonts.  In addition to its own file type, it opens and saves Shift-JIS, EUC-JP, New JIS (ISO-2022), Old JIS and NEC JIS encoded plain text files. If you want to install JWP with the self-installing EXE files then you should first backup your CTL3DV2.DLL because JWP installation will overwrite it without date checking.  The self-installing EXE files cannot be used in Windows 3.1.

J-Text 1.0

A Japanese text editor for Windows 95 or later versions.  Free demo.  It can only open and save documents in its own file type but you can import and export Shift-JIS, EUC-JP, New JIS (ISO-2022) and UTF-16BE encoded plain text files.  It also imports Old JIS and NEC JIS encoded files.  You cannot create tables or make automatically numbered footnotes.  The free version has only bitmap fonts, the commercial version is shipped with a TrueType font.

Japanese WordMage 5.9

A comprehensive study system with its own text editor and other components.  Shareware permanently disabled after the trial period.  The text editor opens and saves Shift-JIS, EUC-JP, New JIS (ISO-2022), Old JIS, NEC JIS and UTF-16LE encoded plain text files.  It cannot read UTF-16 files with byte order marks.  You cannot create tables or make automatically numbered footnotes. Japanese WordMage is a Macintosh application emulated by ARDI's Carbonless Copies technology.  Whenever it opens a file, it creates an accompanying resource file that you can freely delete after exiting WordMage.  The name of a resource file always starts with a % sign.
